Jimi Tents

Earning a spot on TIDAL’s Rising 2016 list of “need-to-know up-and-comers,” Jimi Tents has worked relentlessly to earn name recognition in his hometown, a formidable challenge in the birthplace of hip-hop that is saturated with talent. The East New York wordsmith has laid down the groundwork with the 2015 release of his debut project 5 O’Clock Shadow, with the lead single “Landslide,” earning over 2M streams on Spotify. The track was also named ‘Best New Track’ by Pitchfork. Jimi Tents’ early success led to an opening spot on Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour for no better venues than New York’s legendary arena, Madison Square Garden, and Jimi’s home stadium, the Barclay Center, in Brooklyn.

"Combining jazzy soul, Kendrick-style dexterity, Brooklyn bravado, and seen-it-all wisdom, 19-year-old Jimi Tents is a rapper whose skills are as strong as his unmissable ambition." Pitchfork
